Congratulations to the happy newly weds, J & C! If ever a place for a destination wedding, it would be this beautiful and picturesqe location. Their wedding was at the Mohonk Mountain House, built from 1879 to 1910. J & C celebrated with their closest friends and family at this historic landmark in the Catskill Mountains located in New Paltz, NY.

Peacock Feather Inspiration for Westchester Wedding

Published on Friday, April 27th, 2012

Westchester has so many great locations for portraits and makes is a great location for weddings, especially for anyone traveling from New York City as it is so close and accessible. For A & A’s wedding, began with an engagement session at Rye Town Park and Beach, located on the Long Island Sound in Rye, NY. It has gorgeous rolling hills and a pier, which is seen here at sunset.

Driving in style in Classic Fords, the bridal party arrived at the church Saint Mary of the Assumption in Katonah, NY. After they exchanged vows, the wedding party celebrated in their party limo to Davenport Park in New Rochelle for some portraits of the newlyweds. After which, they celebrated at an elegantly decorated reception at the Greentree Country Club, in New Rochelle, NY.

This beautiful wedding had it’s inspiration from Peacock feathers, highlighting the blue, purple and teal for a great mix of colors. Contrary to what many may think, most peacock feathers are harvested from their annual molting, which in order to have beautiful feathers, the birds must be well fed and taken care of.

My thought has always been that if I am going to put forth my best effort into photography, from capturing to custom printing, then I am not going to cut any corners when it comes to the album. This is why I have always offered Leather Craftsmen albums for their handcrafted albums, which in my opinion, are the best in the industry.

Hudson Valley autumn wedding at the Bird & Bottle Inn

Published on Sunday, February 26th, 2012

Didn’t get enough of autumn this year? Seen her is a colorful autumn Hudson Valley wedding. The Bird & Bottle Inn, located in Garrison, NY, is a great little get away from New York City and makes a charming destination wedding. I am reminded, with these images, to never underestimate the importance of the moments that unravel throughout the wedding day. Seen here are timeless images of moments so tender, as the mom greeting the grandfather at the church, and so unforgettable, as the groomsman holding up a hypodermic needle to remind everyone that the traditional role of groomsmen included kidnapping the bride. Enjoy these glimpses into an unforgettable day.

Greenwich and Rye elegant wedding on Long Island Sound

Published on Monday, January 23rd, 2012

When photographing any wedding, I aspire to learn as much as I can about the couples so I can best tell the story. Here, within the getting ready photographs, I incorporated some of the bride’s grandmother’s inspirational art in the background who was an artist, and has pasted on, but who’s presence is still clear. Following the ceremony at St. Agnes in Greenwich, CT, we were off the Wainwright House in Rye, NY for the reception. Rows of trees are one of my favorite to photograph, seen here tenting the newly weds. Sunset is one of the best times for a quick stroll to capture the ambiance of the day, as shown below. The very elegant and crisp bridal party attire with the vintage chic table settings made me feel as though not a detail was missed in planning this wedding.

The Barns at Wesleyan Hills – DIY Eclectic Wedding

Published on Thursday, December 1st, 2011

This beautiful summer wedding shows off details with great personalized touches! This wedding is an inspiration for anyone looking to plan a wedding with DIY accents. The table placement holders included My Jones Soda with customized labels and personalized bottle koozies. The invitations were designed by the bride’s sister, well she is a graphic designer so maybe that is not so much DIY, but still unique. The floral design was by Connecticut Designer of the Year, Tony Palmieri AIFD of Datura: A Modern Garden with vintage eclectic center pieces… major wow factor! From a ceremony departure in a classic Chevrolet to a sparkler exit from the reception, this couple left no stone unturned when designing their wedding. I’m so happy for this awesome couple!
